Checking in…

It is an exciting and busy time of year, especially for the grade 8s! I’d like to take this chance to remind the students that we’re “business as usual” in classes until the last day of school! Although there are many “interruptions” in the form of fantastic activities, they are all curriculum related and a great chance to learn through a variety of methods. Please check out the “Dates to Remember” section of the blog for major events that the students should be keeping in their calendars in order to be prepared (and have forms in if necessary). Let’s have a focused and fun end to the year! See you at the Grade 8 Leaving Ceremony on June 27th at noon at Earl of March (more information on that to come).
Take care,
Mrs. Baudin

Principal Movement at WEJ

Dear Parents.

Recently, the OCDSB announced the spring rounds of Principal & Vice-Principal Transfers and Appointments. There are a number of schools that have been impacted by these changes in staff, including us here at WEJ. After six great years, my time as Principal at WEJ is coming to an end.

I’d like to welcome and introduce the newly appointed Principal to W. Erskine – Mrs. Marilyn Burans.

Mrs. Burans arrives to WEJ from Jockvale Public School in Barhaven. She is familiar with this school community and is excited to get to know the staff & students.

I will continue in the Principal position here until the end of June and will then be moving into my next assignment as Principal of South March Public School.

I hope you will join me in officially welcoming Mrs. Burans to the WEJ Community. We wish her well as she transitions into her new role.

Thank you.

Ms. Shirley

A Couple Reminders

There are a couple deadlines approaching that I wanted to make sure were communicated clearly so we don’t have any mix ups.

*The deadline for ordering milk and pizza for the rest of the school year is this Friday the 22nd. Instructions on how to order online were sent home with the students. First milk day will be March 4th and first pizza will be the 6th.

*EOM options sheets are due by the 22nd. I highly recommend that they be returned to me sooner so that I can double check information and if there is a problem/something missing, we’ve got time to sort it out.

Thanks!

Report Cards Gone Home!

A heads up that report cards have been handed out and sent home with the students today. I will be in touch with the parents that we would like to meet within the next couple days. If you have not heard from my by Friday afternoon and you would like to have a meeting, please send me an email so we can arrange a time.

Thank you!

EOM Parent Info Night

Earl of March Hish School (EOM) is hosting an open house/information evening on Wednesday, February 13th at 7pm. This is for incoming grade 8 parents who have any questions regarding the school and their program.

Stay tuned for the date that EOM will be coming to WEJ to talk to the students about course selection.

Buses Cancelled

Buses are cancelled this morning, Dec. 21st, (please see wejps.net for more information). This also means that all activities planned for the day are also cancelled (no dance…and yes, no quiz for the grade 8s; I’m sure they’ll be disappointed). ;)

Please stay safe today and over the holidays! I’m looking forward to a wonderful new year with an incredible 8A! Have fun!
